UNIBEN alumnus, Obidike maintains lead in APC National Youth leadership race

An alumnus of the University of Benin, Comrade Obidike Chukwuebuka maintains lead for the post of National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming National Congress of the Party.
Obidike, who is the current Director General of the Conference of APC Support Groups, have made no secret his determination to clinch on to the Youth plum position in the ruling Party. His popularity with the electorates puts him on the edge of winning.
The youth lord says, if elected National Youth Leader, he would use the position to unite Nigerian youths in Nation-building, noting that the disinterest in Nation-building and patriotism by youths was due to lack of trust, confidence and strong National orientation.
Obidike holds the opinion that youths have demonstrated the zeal to change political narratives in Nigeria which he is an integral part of. He believes that a united Nigerian Youth force is a force to reckon with in the whole world. If elected, Obidike says he would use the opportunity to open ‘The Youth Discuss’, and unite youths across the country.
Obidike, who understands the strength of the Youth Constituency in Nation building, laments that the impact and significance of the youth population is not actually felt in National life despite making up to 60 per cent of the Nation’s population. He promises to change the narrative, if elected.
Hear him, “The ingenuity of Nigerian youths is incomparable with none across the globe. Individually, Nigerians Youths are excelling in academics and various other fields in which they find themselves in abroad. What is now left is to give our youths a sense of belonging, unity of purpose, confidence and equal opportunity in Nigeria, and they will transform every sector of our Nation to the 21st century reality, obtainable in other developed countries of the world.
“It is doable and achievable and we must begin the work now. There is no time to waste. We must restore the pride and confidence of our youths in our country and together work for a better Nigeria”, the EFCC Youth Ambassador declares.
Since he declared his intention to contest the post of the APC National Youth Leader, Obidike has initiated multiple engagements with Nigerian youths across the federation on the issue of nation building, the responses are heart-warming and he hopes to enlarge these conversations on a national platform if elected.
Several surveys and opinion polls conducted over time puts the Nnewi (Anambra) born politician ahead in the APC National Youth leadership race as a leading aspirant adequately prepared for a landslide victory and post-election affairs.
In the course of his aspiration, the Youth Ambassador equally met with top Nigerian businessmen and politicians including senior presidential aides, past and sitting governors, federal lawmakers, senators and security agents.
Topping the list are: Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina; immediate past National Secretary of the APC, Arch Waziri Bulama; former Imo Governor, Rochas Okorocha; Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe; business mogul and Innoson Motors Founder, Innocent Chukwuma; Personal Assistant to the President on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, amongst others.
Political analysts and public affairs commentators who spoke on Obidike’s aspiration, while lauding his ambition, believes he is the most suitable aspirant who can spearhead the leadership of the youths as part of the APC National Working Committee (NWC).
According to one of them, “Obidike Chukwuebuka to the best of my conviction is the most suitable candidate who can spearhead the leadership of the youths as part of the National Working Committee of the All Progressive Party (APC).
“He has devoted much of his strength, efforts and vitality to the substantiative development and progress of our great party, APC. Not withstanding his Igbo heritage, he has embraced every other youths cut across the Federation; from the Sokoto’s Caliphate to the North, down to the shore lines of the Atlantic to the South. Obidike has nonetheless proven to be a leader who listens to all and represents the best interests of all groups, especially amongst the youths.
“What the youths of APC deserves is a progressively minded and sensitive leader who is driven by the passion and intent to influence positive and transformative agendas that betters the hope of the ordinary youth, as well as of those who’ve made substantial contributions to the Party. Obidike’s intentions for the Nigerian youth is genuine and this will create the much needed change which is desired by all progressive youths of our great party.
“It’s pertinent to point out that one of the highlights of his agenda’s is to restore the confidence of the youth in the party’s leadership by setting good examples. Also, he is committed to promoting the great contributions of APC towards the development of Nigeria through every means possible, while ensuring all youths partake significantly in policies provided by the government specially for us. Obidike is not a man of words alone but of ‘action’.”
