What happened to Hear’Say’s Suzanne Shaw – Kym Marsh spat and son with Darren Day
Suzanne Shaw shot to fame in hit-making band Hear’Say but since leaving the 90s pop group she’s gone on to achieve a string of acting and TV accolades despite battling booze and depression for nearly two decades.
The star this week celebrates her 40th birthday and has packed plenty into those years including acting in London’s West End, being hailed Dancing on Ice champion and a stint in the soap world in ITV’s Emmerdale.
And away from her career credentials she’s now a hands on mum-of-two living in a luxury home in Berkshire.
We take a look at Suzanne’s journey from 00s pop star to gym-honed yummy mummy as she celebrates her milestone day.
But the star previously told how she underwent a life changing transformation nearly two years ago leading to her incredible body transformation and plant-based diet.
Opening up on social media at the time, Suzanne told her followers: “At the beginning of 2020 I wanted to change my lifestyle but not like I’d done in the past…
“Starting a new regime for it to last eight weeks max and then fall off the health wagon and then try a new type of diet or fitness regime and a few months later, fail again and turn to the blame game!
“I wanted to TRULY change it and not let myself down for the 20th year in a row!”
The star opened up and told fans her ‘happy plan’ which she broke down into four areas of running, alcohol-free, plant based and mindfulness and meditation.
And posting on her birthday yesterday she added: ”They say life begins at 40! Well, it’s certainly taken a U-turn and for the better!
“‘The day I stopped looking for my happiness from an outside source, choosing to prioritise my health and get out of my head my world started to change.”
The star admitted that being on the booze led her on a path to end ‘self loathing’ after developing an ‘unhealthy’ habit with it.

The former Emmerdale actress has had a string of relationships including a failing married to Jason King but made the headlines after getting together with singing sensation Darren Day.
The couple welcomed son Corey in 2004 but sadly split a year later.
And over the decade after becoming a mum she welcomed her second baby boy with partner Sam Greenfield.
She signed off her birthday post on Instagram yesterday thanking Sam and her friends for their support adding: “Feeling blessed, grateful, loved and extremely lucky ☺️ and thank you to my family and friends. @samjgreenfield I love you to the moon and back.”
Suzanne showed off her gorgeous Berkshire home which she shares with partner Sam and her two boys Corey and Rafferty as they moved in just before lockdown in 2020.
The huge pad boasts of a country kitchen, a large lush garden room and even a space to practise yoga.
Since turning vegan she’s developed a new found passion for cooking and admits her kitchen is her favourite room our her home.
With photos of the family adorning the walls as well as a painting by Suzanne’s favourite artist, Andy Waite, the space is the perfect place to relax.
The Mum-of-two has forged her own career since leaving the band but previously told how she wouldn’t rule out reuniting the pop group which she joined when she was just 18.
The group that formed in 2001 and comprises of Suzanne, Kym Marsh, Myleene Klass, Danny Foster and Noel Sullivan.
Chatting to The Sun, she said: “I’d definitely be up for it. Life’s too short to worry about whether it’s cool!”
“The fact that there was a pandemic on our 20 year anniversary definitely meant the stars weren’t aligning for us.
“But I would love to do a one-off concert to mark our 20 years. It’s about proving to my kids that I used to be a pop star!”
She then said fondly: “No matter how close we are to our friends, our family, our partner and our kids, nobody else is going to understand what we went through and have that bond that the five of us have.”

Suzanne and fellow bandmate Kym Marsh reportedly had a bust up after a string of arguments throughout their chart-topping journey, before Kym eventually left the band in 2002 to pursue a solo career.
Suzanne confirmed in 2014 that her friendship with Kym had ended, saying: “I haven’t spoken to Kym in years. We don’t stay in contact.”
But it appears whatever sparked the rows during their time as bandmates has been put behind them as the pair were pictured hugging at an industry event.
In 2018 The Sun reported that an onlooker said: “Suzanne couldn’t contain her emotions as she and Kym came face-to-face for the first time in years.
“She had tears in her eyes and Kym seemed genuinely touched that she was so happy to see her.”
