Married At First Sight fans have been left baffled after E4 ran a repeat episode on Thursday instead of the finale of the show.

The episode, in which the couples renew their vows, should have aired at 9pm fans were left confused after Wednesday’s episode was repeated again.

One fan said: “I have waited a whole 24 hours for the next Married At First Sight Episode and you wanna replay the same one? You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Another fumed: “Why are we watching last night’s Married At First Sight again?”

A third ranted “What’s going on at Channel 4 this week? No subtitles and Alexa failed to play the right episode #MAFSUK #MarriedAtFirstSight #MarriedAtFirstSightUK.”

The episode should have aired at 9pm

“Is anyone else tuning in to REWATCH last nights episode? Thinking face WTH E4,” complained another.

While another saw the funny side typing: “Currently E4 are playing the penultimate episode of a series for the second night in a row… instead of the scheduled final of Married At First Sight.

“If you think you are having a bad day…”

E4 apologised to viewers and said the final episode will now air on Friday, 1st October

E4 explained in a statement sent to the Daily Mirror the wrong episode was aired due to “technical issues”.

It also apologised to viewers and said the final episode will now air on Friday 1 October (today) at 9pm on E4, followed by MAFS Afters at 10pm.

In a statement it said: “Viewers might have noticed last night that instead of the eagerly anticipated finale of Married at First Sight UK, a repeat was broadcast.

“This follows the incident at the weekend which has caused ongoing technical issues for Channel 4’s services. We apologise for any disappointment this has caused.”

The final episode is set to see couple’s renewing their vows

The broadcaster also explained why the episode didn’t air on Twitter, saying: “We’re aware it’s yesterday’s episode of #MAFSUK playing out this evening and apologise. It’s all down to our ongoing tech issues which we’re working hard on. We’ll update here as soon as we know more and when you’ll be able to see the final episode of MAFS UK.”

The technical issue comes after a fire alarm at a broadcast studio used by Channel 4 and Channel 5.

The fire knocked several of the two broadcasters’ channels off air and many Channel 4 channels such as E4 and 4Music still aren’t working properly.

Red Bee Media, who play out the channels and adverts, reportedly evacuated its West London White City transmission centre.
